Deep Tech of the Brain

The Neiry DeepTech Lab has launched a socially oriented educational project for high school and university students titled “Deep Tech of the Brain.” The initiative aims to help teenagers develop entrepreneurial potential and create socially significant biotechnology products. The program is open to students in grades 8–11 and first- to third-year university students.

The key goal of the program is to nurture the interest of talented and ambitious Russian youth in scientific and technological innovation, while helping them grow as entrepreneurs who address real social challenges. Throughout the program, participants will develop and present their own socially impactful technological projects designed to improve people’s lives.

According to VCIOM research, 70% of high school graduates do not know which profession they want to pursue. Yet, the same studies show that 78% of young people under 25 are interested in technological development in Russia. Through the “Deep Tech of the Brain” program, the organizers aim to channel the potential of talented and motivated students into the advancement of Russian science, entrepreneurship, and the social sector.

Applications for participation are open until November 15. To apply, candidates must complete a form on the project’s website, actively participate in open webinars, and submit a short essay on one of the suggested topics. On November 18, the project team will select 100 participants.

The educational course starts on November 20 and includes four modules covering technology, product development and value, market and finance assessment, and project pitching preparation. Participants will attend 12 expert lecturesand 4 practical sessions in total. Classes will be held twice a week, each lasting one hour.

The final stage of the project will take place from January 25 to 28, 2025, where participants will present their projects to industry experts. Following the pitch session, six best projects will be selected. Winners will receive various prizessuch as laptops, neurodevices, and admission to the Summer Science School, among others.

Each participant will also receive a certificate from the “Talent” platform, which can provide additional admission points when applying to universities.

The project is implemented by the non-profit agency I’MPACT and the Geekz Training Center, with support from MEPhI, Innopolis University, Higher School of Economics (HSE), Kazan Federal University (KFU), Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), the High Technologies Research Center “KhimRar” (Aviandr Project), and the Technopark premium electronics retail chain.
